Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting a pre-school adaptive program. This contract role offers the chance to work on-site, engaging directly with students, families, and colleagues for a rewarding, hands-on experience. With a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week (49% FTE), you'll have the flexibility to balance impactful work with your other commitments.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience or coursework with pre-school or early childhood adaptive programs preferred Demonstrable commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing learning environment Adept at individualizing instruction based on diverse student needs Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and interdisciplinary teams Willingness to work fully on-site with students and staff
Your Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for pre-school students with diverse abilities Utilize adaptive teaching strategies, materials, and technologies to promote student learning Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure cohesion and continuity of care Engage families to foster a supportive bridge between home and school environments Track progress, maintain documentation, and adjust strategies as needed to maximize each child's development In this supportive and engaging setting, you'll help young children develop foundational skills, build self-confidence, and achieve meaningful milestones.
