Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an exciting role shaping the lives of early learners as a Special Education Teacher focused on Cognitive Impairments. This contract opportunity involves supporting elementary-aged students in kindergarten through second grade, working closely with a caseload of 17 bright and unique individuals. With a tentative start date of August 11, 2026, and wrapping up June 4, 2027, this full-time position lets you make a lasting impact over the school year. Your specialized expertise will be vital in crafting dynamic, individualized programming and offering daily encouragement to students who benefit from differentiated instruction. Collaborating with families, aides, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom culture where every child is empowered to reach their potential. What you'll bring: Valid Special Education Teacher certification (CI endorsement required or eligible) Previous experience working with students needing cognitive impairment support, especially in K-2 Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Exceptional communication and collaboration skills Adaptability and resourcefulness in diverse classroom situations Commitment to providing equitable, student-centered instruction Responsibilities include: Developing and implementing customized lesson plans to meet Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals for each student Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records of student achievement Actively participating in IEP meetings and advocating for your students' needs Coordinating with paraprofessionals and other support staff to create a positive, collaborative classroom environment Communicating regularly with families on student growth and success Embrace this rewarding position where you'll play a pivotal role in the academic and personal growth of your students.
