Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract position is available for an experienced special education teacher to support students with severe disabilities and challenging behaviors in a Setting 4 environment. This role is located onsite at a learning center in Coon Rapids, MN, serving students who require intensive behavioral and educational support.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with the highest behavioral and cognitive needs within Setting 4. Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies to meet diverse learning requirements. Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment conducive to learning and development. Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administration to ensure alignment of educational goals and behavioral interventions.
Qualifications:
Minnesota teaching license at Tier 3 or Tier 4 level, specific to special education. Experience working with students who have severe disabilities and significant behavioral challenges. Strong knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and special education best practices. Ability to commute reliably to the Coon Rapids location. Commitment to a contract term starting February 9, 2026, through June 5, 2026.
Work Schedule and Location:
37.5 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Position based at Rivertail Learning Center, 12211 Crooked Lake Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55448.
