Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity guiding students toward academic and personal growth in a center-based elementary program. You'll be supporting young learners with diverse needs, fostering a nurturing and structured environment to ensure every child has a chance to succeed. This onsite role offers a chance to make a genuine impact throughout the school year, collaborating closely with fellow educators and families.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active Colorado Special Education Teacher license (required) Background working in special education, particularly at the elementary level Strong communication skills to partner with students, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Commitment to inclusive, positive classroom environments tailored to student strengths
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a lead teacher in a center-based elementary classroom setting Develop, execute, and review IEPs to support student growth Create individualized lesson plans and adapt instruction for diverse learning needs Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapy providers Communicate progress and needs regularly with families and school staff Implement behavioral interventions and positive reinforcement strategies Maintain accurate, timely records according to district and state requirements This is a contract position offering full-time hours during the academic year, allowing you to focus your skills and passion in a supportive school environment.
