Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students at the elementary level for the 2026-2027 school year. Three onsite Special Education teaching positions are available, serving engaging caseloads in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), or Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD). Select your preferred specialty and make a profound impact in a district where ongoing collaboration and innovation are prioritized. Work within vibrant elementary environments with a schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. With well-defined campuses, enjoy serving students at either Lino Lakes Elementary or Columbus Elementary—each mapped to ensure clarity given the district's broad geography.
Preferred Qualities and Experience:
Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching certification (a current copy of certification and resume must be submitted for consideration) Experience or strong interest in working with elementary students in ASD, DCD, or EBD caseloads Adaptability and enthusiasm for collaborative, child-centered teaching Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Commitment to individualized instruction and IEP development
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver special education services to a specific caseload of elementary students Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to support student growth Use evidence-based practices to address academic, social, and behavioral goals Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with district and state guidelines This contract assignment lets you hone your expertise and make a measurable difference in a supportive school community.
