Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Key Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching certification (must be provided with your application) Experience in elementary special education, with a preference for those skilled in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), or Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) Strong classroom management abilities and a commitment to fostering supportive, inclusive learning environments Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and related service providers
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and adaptive strategies for students with special needs (ASD, DCD, or EBD), aligned with each child's IEP goals Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages academic and social growth Assess student progress regularly, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings Partner with general education teachers and specialists to support student inclusion Communicate regularly with families about progress and classroom activities Work across mapped schools, Lino Lakes Elementary and Columbus Elementary, ensuring effective coverage across the district's diverse geography This position offers the chance to focus on your area of expertise and preference—please share your desired caseload type upon applying.
