Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An educational opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers in Wilmington, VT, focused on supporting students with diverse learning needs. This full-time, onsite role emphasizes collaboration, individualized instruction, and meaningful student engagement within a supportive school environment.
Location:
Wilmington, VT Position Type:
Full-time Contract (2 openings)
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00
PM Caseload:
Approximately 15 students, primarily elementary with flexibility for some high school students if needed
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with individualized education programs (IEPs) to promote academic and social development Collaborate closely with school staff and families to implement effective educational strategies and accommodations Participate in scheduled after-school meetings that are communicated well in advance Adapt teaching methods to meet varied learning styles and needs, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere Maintain thorough documentation and communication related to student progress and IEP compliance
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
State certification in Special Education or relevant licensure Proven experience teaching diverse student populations, ideally including elementary and secondary levels Ability to manage caseload efficiently while delivering individualized support Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with educators, families, and support staff Commitment to student growth and responsive instructional practices
