Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students with autism in a dynamic educational environment. Multiple full-time contract positions are available for experienced special education teachers looking to work in self-contained classrooms. Enjoy the opportunity to collaborate closely with a dedicated support team and provide individualized instruction that enriches students' academic and social development.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher Proven experience or strong interest in teaching students with autism Familiarity with self-contained classroom structures and differentiated instruction Ability to work effectively with paraprofessionals and other classroom staff Skilled in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong organizational and communication skills
Role Highlights:
Teach in self-contained classrooms, each class limited to 10 students for optimal attention and support Lead a collaborative team that includes 3-6 paraprofessionals per classroom Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that address each student's unique needs Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment Track and report student progress, maintaining accurate and timely documentation Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of personalized educational strategies Engage students using evidence-based strategies for those with autism
