Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting fifth-grade students in a dynamic K-8 environment near West Chester, PA. As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering learning support through both push-in and pull-out teaching methods during the 2026-2027 academic year. With a structured schedule of 8:15 am to 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday, you'll make a lasting impact while collaborating closely with colleagues and the student support team.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current PA Instructional I or Instructional II certificate in Special Education K-12, or ability to obtain certification by the end of July Prior experience teaching or working with students in special education, especially at the upper elementary or middle grades Comprehensive understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), instructional strategies, and compliance with state and federal special education policies Clear background check and up-to-date professional credentials required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide both push-in and pull-out learning support for fifth-grade students, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families and staff Collaborate with general education teachers and resource staff to foster an inclusive and supportive environment Employ evidence-based instructional techniques and differentiated strategies in all learning activities This opportunity offers a competitive pay range of $37.50-$54.75 per hour, reflecting your expertise and dedication to student success.
