With a schedule from 7:40 am to 3:20 pm Monday through Friday—including a paid lunch and a generous paid planning period—you'll find balance alongside your professional fulfillment. In this dynamic role, you may be working with either 3rd or 8th graders, as final grade placement will be determined closer to the school year start. Expect a combination of self-contained classroom instruction, as well as push-in and pull-out teaching models. You'll deliver core content in math, reading, science, and social studies. The position runs from August 12, 2026, to May 21, 2027, approximately 39 hours per week. What we're seeking: Valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (PK-22). Experience and confidence managing diverse behaviors, especially with students presenting behavior disorders. Thorough knowledge and independent experience with IEP development—comfortable drafting goals and completing documents from start to finish. Flexibility to work at either the 3rd or 8th grade level. Skills in differentiated instruction for various learning styles and needs.

Responsibilities include:

Designing and implementing individualized lesson plans. Managing classroom behavior using evidence-based strategies. Writing, updating, and executing IEPs independently. Collaborating with other teachers, specialists, and families. Supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally.
