Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact in a supportive educational environment as a Special Education Teacher. This contract position, located near Norristown, PA, is available immediately through June 12, 2026, offering a stable and rewarding opportunity to empower students and help shape brighter futures. Work hours are from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. You'll benefit from a one-hour daily planning period, along with a 30-minute lunch break, allowing for effective preparation and work-life balance. Ideal candidates come with a strong background in special education and are confident navigating all aspects of writing and managing IEPs. Emergency certified teachers with demonstrated experience in this area are encouraged to apply.
Key qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Special Education Teacher Certification, or valid Emergency Certification with strong relevant experience. Expertise in designing, writing, and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student progress. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Primary responsibilities:
Develop and implement lessons tailored to individual student needs and IEP goals. Effectively write and maintain IEPs and related documentation. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed. Engage regularly with staff and families to support educational plans. Create a positive, structured classroom atmosphere that promotes growth and independence.
