Gateway Regional School Begins August 25, 2026 Gateway Regional School is seeking a Substantially Separate Special Education Teacher (Sunrise Academy)Qualified Candidates Must:
- Have a MA License for teaching students with Moderate or Severe Disabilities (or licensed by August 25, 2026) Required
- Have a Bachelor's Degree
- Have 3+ years of experience in a Life Skills, or similar, program
- Experience teaching in a middle school or high school setting (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience completing MCAS ALTs Preferred

Professional Responsibilities Include:
- Plan and deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction for students with autism and developmental disabilities in the areas of functional academics, activities of daily living (ADLs), social skills, community integration, and transition planning.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including progress reporting and data collection to inform instruction and ensure student growth.
- Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and coaching to program paraprofessionals to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation of instructional and behavioral strategies.
- Collaborate closely with related service providers, including Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), Occupational Therapists (OT), Physical Therapists (PT), school nurses, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), to support a cohesive and comprehensive approach to student programming.
- Serve as the Team Chair/Liaison for annual review and other IEP meetings, including facilitating meetings, presenting draft IEPs, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Foster strong, consistent, and positive communication with families, providing regular updates on student progress, needs, and successes.
- Maintain ongoing communication and coordination with service providers and general education staff to support inclusion opportunities and continuity of services.
- Support students in developing independence and functional skills across school, home, and community settings.
- Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, professional development, required training, and other school-based or district meetings throughout the school year.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including student data, service logs, and compliance records.
- Create and maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment that meets the sensory, behavioral, and learning needs of all students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration to support the overall success of the program and school community.
