Job Description
The Specialty Products Associate is responsible for trimming cheese, manufacturing sour cream, chip dip and butter, produced by Country Dairy. This employee will produce sour cream, chip dip and butter according to the schedule determined by the Plant Manager and in accordance with customer orders for these products. This employee will answer to the Specialty Products Lead and Plant Supervisor/Plant Manager. This is a 3rd shift position which does receive a premium. Product Production:
Produce and package sour cream, chip dip, and butter in accordance with schedule set by the SPL. Trimming of cheese and package for transport Complete pre- and post-production sanitation for all specialty products. Complete sour cream, chip dip and butter production records and submit promptly to SPL. Understand and follow Country Dairy and industry-standard Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Facility Maintenance and Improvement:
Perform routine preventative maintenance on all specialty product production equipment in accordance with schedule set by SPL. Effect basic facility improvements to enhance production efficiency in coordination with the SPL and maintenance staff. Provide input regarding equipment improvements and equipment operation to the SPL.Quality Control:
Pull product samples for QC analysis in accordance with the schedule set by the SPL. Be involved with routine product cuttings and sensory analysis.Inventory Control and Storage Facilities:
Receive sour cream, chip dip and butter ingredients and store properly. Maintain a first in, first out system for use of sour cream, chip dip and butter ingredients. Maintain orderly and clean storage facilities for all specialty products, ingredients, and packaging materials. Specialty products storage facilities include the specialty freezer, specialty cooler and dry storage. Monitor inventory of sour cream, chip dip and butter ingredients for production of said products, and report regularly to the SPL. Additional Responsibilities This job description is not inclusive of all tasks that may be required of the SPL, and additional responsibilities may be assigned by the SPL. May be asked to help out in other areas until product is ready for production or packaging. This employee must have the following competencies: The ability to lift 40-50# routinely throughout the day The ability to work 3rd shift The ability to follow GMP's Good attendance record Ability to maintain neat and accurate records in written and electronic format The ability to work effectively with superiors, subordinates, customers, and suppliers.
