We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech Language Path PRN to help us reach our goals. Unlock your potential! Job Summary and Qualifications The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues. What you will do in this role: You will conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient's speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. You will administer objective tests to assess patient's communication assets and liabilities. You will structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities. You will evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress. You will document progress in patient's chart. You will complete notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication. You will consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.What qualifications you will need:
Current Speech Language Pathology licensure in the state of Kansas Certificate of Clinical Competence through ASHA in Speech Language Pathology New graduates require Certificate of Clinical Competence through ASHA within 18 months of employment Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR Masters of Arts or Science in Speech Language Pathology Previous clinical experience preferred "There is so much good to do in the world and so many different ways to do it."- Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. HCA Healthcare Co-Founder Be a part of an organization that invests in you!
