OVERVIEW
The Speech Language Pathologist provides services to students with disabilities to support their access to education. The therapist evaluates, plans, and implements individualized interventions that enhance students' speech and language in the school environment. The role requires collaboration with educators, families, and other service providers to promote student success.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Provide screening and diagnostic services in the areas of articulation, language, fluency and voice. Provide speech, language and hearing services for individual students and groups on a developmental and remedial basis. Consult with concerned parents of students with communication problems in the program as needed. Work cooperatively with the involved teacher, counselor, psychologist, nurse and principal in planning appropriate interventions for children who have become a focus of concern. Provide consultative services for special education and regular program students with communication problems. Provide supervision and observation of educational assistant. Willingness to benefit from the supervision and evaluation programs. Participate in self-improvement plans. Update professional growth. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree in speech pathology and audiology required Experience and training in the following areas: speech and language management speech and language diagnosis stuttering voice management hearing impaired and deaf students Strong skills and background in instructional methods and strategies, including extensive training in Speech/Language Pathology including knowledge of current research and trends.
Certificates and Licenses:

Licenses Clearances:
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
  • WA State Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release
