Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Carmel Manor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for pediatric patient care and a comprehensive understanding of speech therapy techniques. This role involves providing specialized speech and language assessments, developing tailored treatment plans, and delivering effective therapy to children with diverse communication needs. The Speech Language Pathologist will play a vital role in supporting early intervention efforts and enhancing the quality of life for our young patients through compassionate, evidence-based care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in pediatric populations. Develop individualized treatment plans that align with each child's unique needs and developmental goals. Deliver engaging and effective speech therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic activities. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent support and progress monitoring. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and session notes in compliance with healthcare standards. Stay informed about current advancements in speech therapy practices, physiology knowledge, and early intervention strategies. Educate families on exercises, communication strategies, and assistive devices to promote ongoing development outside therapy sessions. Skills Proven experience working with pediatric populations in school or clinical settings. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, patient assessment methods, and medical terminology related to communication disorders. Familiarity with anatomy knowledge relevant to speech production and physiology principles underlying speech mechanisms. Ability to develop creative intervention strategies tailored to individual patient needs. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of early intervention programs and best practices for supporting developmental milestones in children. Demonstrated commitment to patient care excellence, with a compassionate approach to working with young patients and their families. #IND2
