Job Description
PACE SLP
caseloads are generally 12-18 cases. Our PACE Speech Language Pathologist will provide the supervision required for you to successfully complete your CFY. Our SLPs are primarily responsible for providing specialized services to students in the PACE school who have Individualized Education Plan (IEP) requirements for SLP support.Primary Responsibilities :
Under supervision of licensedSLP:
Conducts assessments and writes comprehensive school-based reports Consults and collaborates with parent/teacher/IEP team regarding service delivery modifications, accommodations and/or generalization of skills Requirements Knowledge, Skill and Experience The candidate must possess the following minimum requirements for consideration as a SLP-CFY Age 21 years of age or older Education Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology Certifications A valid California license from the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board as a Speech Pathologist. Communication Skills -- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including speaking, writing, listening, motivating, inspiring, collaborating, delegating. Self-starter and team player. Organizational Skills -- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track and follow-up with multiple, simultaneous projects. Technical Skills -- Proficiency in understanding and utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods. Physical Requirements The Speech Language Pathologist-CFY must be able to comply and adhere to the following physical requirements. Pushing, Pulling and Lifting - The individual must be able to lift and or push at least 35lbs. with assistance in order to carry necessary presentation materials or specialized equipment to external sites on occasion. Must be able to physically bend, squat, reach over shoulders, reach over head, reach outward, kneel, sit, walk on normal, slippery, or uneven surfaces and stand.Student Behavior Management:
PACE provides training to safely manage student behaviors and redirect students as needed. Office Work - This position requires that the SLP be able to conduct a variety of office work including typing on a computer. Personal Requirements Must have the ability to work independently and in cooperation with others. Must enjoy working with and relating to people effectively. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be willing to attend meetings into the evenings on occassion.
