Speech/Language Impaired Job Summary:
To serve the needs of students with speech and language needs in Big Hollow School District #38. Duties and Responsibilities The duties listed below represent the essential functions of the position; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Provide direct support services for students with speech and language disabilities. Case manage students with primary speech and language needs, including responsibility for required special education documentation, in accordance with District procedures and ISBE guidelines. Provide speech and language assessments as part of initial and reevaluation case studies to determine eligibility for service and appropriate service delivery model. Attend IEP team meetings, department meetings, and other meetings as required to support student services and professional collaboration. Provide mentoring or supervision for the clinical fellowship year as needed. Follow District and State procedures for record keeping, reports, and forms. Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain licensure and improve professional practice. Serves as a resource for parents, special education, and regular education staff for both regular and special education students. Maintains appropriate communication with parents, staff, and administration. Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with
IDEA, FERPA, ISBE
regulations, and District policies. Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor. As per the school calendar, as required by the State Board of Education and approved by the School Board.
Salary:
The starting salary for this position is based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Board-approved salary schedule and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
