In this role, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables, ensuring high-quality splicing and network integrity. Your leadership will drive safety, efficiency, and precision across all field service activities while coordinating with technical teams to deliver reliable IT infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities Supervise daily fiber splicing activities, including fiber optic cable preparation, fusion splicing, and testing to ensure optimal performance. This includes new builds, maintenance and emergency operations. Coordinate field service operations involving heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and hand tools for cable installation and maintenance. Lead team members in working at heights safely while adhering to all safety protocols related to fall prevention, electrical work and low voltage systems. Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams related to network infrastructure, LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, telephony, and electrical systems. Create Scope of Work Documents. Oversee the use of computer networking tools to troubleshoot cabling issues, perform network testing, and ensure proper connectivity of telecommunication systems. Maintain accurate documentation of splicing procedures, schematics updates, and network configurations for IT infrastructure projects. Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during all construction and telecommunication activities. Requirements Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining a strong safety culture. Strong background in fiber splicing, cabling, and network infrastructure. Ability to operate and work out of bucket trucks safely and efficiently. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, schematics interpretation, climbing techniques, and safety harnesses. Knowledge of telephony systems, Ethernet wiring standards, LAN/WAN configurations, and computer networking fundamentals. Construction experience with a focus on telecommunications infrastructure installation and maintenance. Excellant network outage trouble shooting ability, indepth knowledge of OTDR use. Valid certifications in telecommunications or electrical work are preferred; relevant training in fiber optics or network cabling is highly advantageous.
