Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Riesel, Texas. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet integrity through detailed analysis and reconciliation work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a disciplined approach to deadlines, and the ability to manage high-volume financial data with precision.

Responsibilities:

Lead monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing financial data to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Maintain the general ledger by recording accounting activity, validating entries, and resolving discrepancies as they arise. Prepare journal entries with appropriate support and ensure transactions are properly classified in accordance with accounting standards. Perform detailed account reconciliations to confirm balances are complete, accurate, and supported by documentation. Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, researching variances, and clearing outstanding items promptly. Analyze financial records and investigate unusual trends or variances to improve accuracy and reporting reliability. Partner with internal stakeholders to gather needed accounting information and support routine reporting requirements. Proven experience working in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for close and reconciliation activities. Strong hands-on knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management. Demonstrated ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high level of accuracy. Experience performing account reconciliations and resolving balance discrepancies efficiently. Solid background in bank reconciliation and cash account analysis. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet recurring deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
