Salary Range for this position is $73-83k Senior Accountant The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes. This role works closely with the accounting team and cross‑functional partners to maintain compliance with GAAP, improve processes, and support audits. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. Key responsibilities Perform month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations (manage the account reconciliation process) Analyze financial data and investigate variances against budget and prior periods Assist in month-end and year-end activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Maintain strong documentation standards for journal entries and account reconciliations Develop an understanding of the business and forge strong relationships with the manufacturing sites and other departments Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiries Responsible for the fixed asset monthly process Partner with FP&A and accounting resources to ensure budget details are loaded properly Ownership of payroll and benefit accounting entries as required Responsible for all grant accounting inclusive of accounting, tracking and reconciliation Oversee and ensure the accuracy of expense reporting module
  • Certify Manage the lease accounting setup, monthly accounting, reconciliation and compliance Provide strategic oversight and governance for all R D tax credit activities across the organization Lead a monthly Capital Committee meeting and collaborate with project managers Assist with special projects, and policy updates as needed Drive process improvements to streamline the flow of information within the department and across the company's sites Key accounting resource supporting the conversion and implementation of a new ERP system Provide guidance and review the work of accountants Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level
  • Required/Preferred
  • BS Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA a plus Work Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience Practical/Technical Knowledge Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset Organized, strong work ethic and detail-oriented Passionate with an ability to identify opportunities to streamline processes Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite Desire to learn the fundamentals of the industry and take on new challenges Ability to work independently and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced environment Supervisory experience a plus but not required JD Edwards, SAGE and systems conversion experience a plus Agri-Mark is an equal opportunity employer.
