Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract assignment. This role is ideal for someone who can manage key close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure balance sheet integrity. The position will play an important part in keeping daily and monthly accounting processes organized, compliant, and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing transactions, and helping ensure timely completion of financial reporting tasks.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and adjusting financial activity to support accurate account balances.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support documentation and alignment to accounting standards.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Complete bank reconciliations on a recurring basis and follow up on outstanding items to ensure cash records remain accurate.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by reviewing transactions, resolving issues, and improving data accuracy across records.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information, clarify account activity, and support audit-ready documentation.
• Assist with ongoing accounting process improvements and support operational changes as needed within the finance function.
