DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Compliance Specialist to join the Amazon Leo's Public Funding Compliance Team. This role is an integral part of developing our compliance framework for participation in public funding (or subsidized government) programs in the U.S. and globally. You will build compliance infrastructure from the ground up, working at the intersections of broadband satellite technology innovation and regulatory requirements. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology who thrives on continuous challenges demonstrates sound judgment in ambiguous situations. Key job responsibilities You will research, develop, create, and maintain comprehensive compliance procedures for required filings, forms, and submissions to public funding program administrators. You will manage the complete lifecycle compliance obligation activities. This includes documentation, reporting, and audit preparation, while monitoring evolving program requirements and regulations to adapt internal policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance. You will also lead solutioning for management and execution of timely submissions for required regulatory filings and public funding program documentation. You will design and implement scalable compliance frameworks that support rapid organizational growth while maintaining high fidelity. This includes creating clear, actionable policies and standard operating procedures within our team and in collaboration with partner teams. You will establish quality assurance processes and follow internal controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of regulatory submissions, maintain comprehensive compliance documentation and audit trails for all program expenditures and activities. You will navigate ambiguous regulatory environments by researching precedents, consulting subject matter experts, and developing pragmatic compliance solutions. This involves proactively identifying compliance risks and developing mitigation strategies that balance regulatory requirements with business objectives, while driving continuous improvement through technology and best practices from telecommunications and federal grant management.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
