OBAYASHI CORPORATION
is seeking qualified candidates with experience in Heavy Civil Estimation and Construction, including site development and restoration, pump stations and water treatment plants, bridges (new and retrofit), and dam structures. This role reports to the Estimating Manager and is based in our North American Regional Headquarters in Foster City, California.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
: Prepare synopsis of potential pursuits bid documents. Prepare detailed estimates and complete bid reviews with the Estimating team. Participate in means and methods planning and design developments for project pursuits. Develop and package scopes of work for subcontractor solicitations. Evaluation of subcontract cost estimates and proposals. Ability to assist proposal team with development of RFQs and RFPs. Consult with Clients, Vendors and Subcontractors and work with the Project Transition and Operations Team on successful bids. Assist Project Teams with pricing requirements for ongoing projects/change order pricing. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above and other duties may be assigned.Education & Work Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 10+ years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management practices. Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software and Viewpoint Construction Software is a plus. Familiarity with union and non-union labor rates, subcontractor scopes, and bid analysis. Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, bridges, and utilities.Skills :
Team player with excellent communication skills Computer Skills to include Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, P6/OPC and BlueBeam. Effective oral and written communication skills is required. Knowledge of heavy civil construction principles, with the ability to read plans and specifications. Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.OTHER :
Able to work after hours, on weekends, and on-call when needed. Limited traveling for meetings and site visits. Ability to walk and work on outdoor construction job sites. Ability to lift and/or lift up to 40 lbs. Onsite Project Team opportunities available on an as-needed basis.ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE
: $137,000 - $177,000 USD / yr In accordance with California state law, Obayashi Corporation is committed to providing clear and transparent information regarding the compensation for this position. The final salary offered will be based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and relevant market considerations. This salary range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role within California. Compensation in other states may vary based on local market conditions and applicable regulations.
