Job Description
Job Title:
Assistant Accountant (Mining Industry) Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Asst. Accountant to join our mining operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting key accounting functions across the organization. You will also manage inventory records using Tally and should have strong working knowledge of both Tally 7.2 and Tally ERP 9 . This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop corporate accounting skills while gaining international work exposure. Key Responsibilities (with Inventory Management Focus) Maintain and control inventory records for all stores, including raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and finished goods Prepare and analyze journal entries, stock entries, sales, and purchase transactions, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger Record stock entries, material receipts, issues, and transfers accurately in Tally (7.2 & ERP 9) Perform regular stock reconciliations between physical inventory and system records; investigate and resolve discrepancies Maintain salary registers and update payroll data in Excel on a daily basis Maintain vehicle-wise and location-wise stock registers manually and in Excel Monitor daily stock movement and consumption trends , especially for mining operations and site usage Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking Prepare and track stock reports, aging reports, and consumption analysis Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to ensure timely availability of materials and avoid stock-outs or overstocking Implement and follow inventory control procedures to minimize losses, pilferage, and wastage Assist in periodic physical stock audits and support internal audit requirements Maintain proper documentation for GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), issue slips, and stock transfers Ensure proper valuation of inventory and support in closing stock calculations during month-end and year-end- Complete daily performance reports using predefined Excel formats
- Prepare advance payment lists and other financial reports in Excel
- Maintain comprehensive records of purchases, expenses, and daily financial reports
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation
- Maintain attendance records using fingerprint systems
- Support internal audit and compliance requirements
- Use accounting software such as Tally (7.2 & ERP 9), QuickBooks, or similar systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and financial reporting Skills Strong knowledge of inventory management principles (FIFO, weighted average, stock valuation, etc.
