Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support accounting operations for an organization in a flexible, part-time capacity. This contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate who is interested in part-time work while managing critical close activities and financial reporting. The role focuses on accurate month-end and year-end accounting support, preparation of statements for ownership and lending partners, and hands-on work in an inventory and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end accounting tasks and help complete the close process within a short reporting window.
• Assist with year-end close activities, including preparation of supporting schedules and required financial information.
• Prepare financial statements for internal ownership review and external banking relationships.
• Record journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity to support reliable financial reporting.
• Compile annual financial data and documentation needed for external reporting requirements.
• Work with inventory-related accounting processes in a manufacturing setting to ensure proper valuation and reporting.
• Support ongoing accounting operations using the organization's ERP platform Requirements
• Proven experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Strong working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and monthly close procedures.
• Experience supporting both month-end and year-end close activities.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and related supporting documentation.
• Background in inventory accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using the organization's accounting system is required; familiarity with SYSPRO is preferred.
