Job Description

Staff Development Coordinator / Scheduling Coordinator - LPN Position Summary The Staff Development Coordinator / Scheduler is responsible for coordinating staff education, orientation, training compliance, and nursing schedules to support quality resident care and regulatory compliance. This position works closely with facility leadership to ensure employees are properly trained, staffing needs are met, and scheduling processes run efficiently. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate and maintain nursing department schedules, including call rotation and staffing adjustments. Assist with maintaining staffing ratios and coverage needs. Develop, coordinate, and track orientation and ongoing in-service education programs for all staff. Maintain training records, attendance logs, competencies, and CEU documentation. Ensure compliance with all required annual and regulatory training requirements. Communicate training schedules and staffing updates to department leaders and staff. Assist with onboarding and employee development programs. Identify training needs and coordinate retraining as needed. Participate in QAPI, committee meetings, and performance improvement initiatives related to staff education and scheduling. Post job openings on social media and hiring platforms as directed. Coordinate with department leaders to support recruitment, retention, and employee engagement efforts. Prepare training materials, sign-in sheets, and educational resources for in-services and orientations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator. Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage schedules, training records, and multiple deadlines. Knowledge of long-term care regulations and staffing requirements preferred. Experience in staff development, scheduling, or long-term care preferred.
