Partners with management on hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, discipline, and recognition of engineering staff. Develops staffing schedules, approves overtime, and optimizes use of vendors to ensure proper coverage and cost control. Oversees HVAC operations, prioritizing and scheduling routine, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance. Leads preventive maintenance programs, ensures timely completion, accurate CMMS documentation, and maintains regulatory and audit‑ready records. Supervises HVAC repairs, installations, and retro‑commissioning activities, ensuring work meets safety, quality, infection control, and regulatory standards. Troubleshoots system failures, coordinates service outages, and oversees vendor repairs to minimize impact on hospital operations and patient care. Establishes and maintains standard operating procedures, equipment rounds, and emergency response protocols for utilities, assuming leadership during incidents. Chairs the Utilities Management Sub‑Committee and executes the Utility Management Plan to improve efficiency, reliability, and occupant comfort. Supports budget planning and capital infrastructure initiatives, manages expenditures, and ensures facilities remain clean, safe, and professionally maintained. Responds to occupant concerns promptly and professionally, communicating resolution status and corrective actions effectively.Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Mon - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm Shift hours may vary depending on staffing and\or projects\repairs needed during off shift hours. What We Are Looking For High school graduate or equivalent Stationary Engineer's License and Universal CFC certification. Five year's hands on experience as a lead, supervisor or manager overseeing the operation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of boilers, air conditioning systems, pumps, H.V.A.C. systems and associated equipment in a large institution or major facility.
