Ridgeland, SC (Bluffton / Savannah area)
Compensation:
$95K
- $110K Base + Performance Bonus We are seeking a Steel Estimator / Project Manager to support and grow our structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication operations.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who understands steel estimating, fabrication processes, and project execution from bid phase through shop coordination. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate who can confidently review drawings, build accurate budgets, help secure projects, and support fabrication operations throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals Prepare accurate project estimates and budgets including material, fabrication labor, and installation costs Review bid documents, RFQs, and construction drawings Develop and submit competitive project proposals Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for material pricing and procurement Support project handoff from estimating to fabrication and production teams Assist with shop coordination, scheduling, and project tracking as needed Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and within budget Qualifications Experience in steel estimating, steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, or related construction environments Strong ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings Understanding of fabrication workflows, shop operations, and steel installation processes Experience preparing bids, cost estimates, and project budgets Strong communication and coordination skills Tekla PowerFab and/or Tekla Structures experience is highly preferred Preferred Background Structural steel fabrication Miscellaneous metals Fabrication shop coordination Steel project management Vendor and material procurement coordination
