Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Steel Slitter Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining steel slitting machinery to produce precise sheet metal strips according to specifications. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output, efficient production processes, and adherence to safety standards. NEW PIECE OF EQUIPMENT!
! Set up and adjust machinery, mechanical knowledge to meet specific customer requirements. Conduct quality inspections utilizing micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and ensure product standards are met. Maintain safety protocols by properly handling tooling, hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other equipment while adhering to OSHA regulations. Perform routine maintenance on machinery to optimize performance. Troubleshoot production issues promptly by analyzing machine operations and implementing corrective actions. Document production data accurately through shift reports, inspection logs, and process documentation for continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Proven experience operating steel slitting machinery or similar fabrication equipment in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with tooling setup. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers for quality inspection purposes. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments. Knowledge of safety procedures related to crane operation, forklift handling, sheet metal fabrication, and general shop safety standards. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues efficiently.
