183003 Position Summary Plan, lay-out, weld, install, and repair all types of structural steel products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards. Experience Level Skilled Primary Responsibilities and Duties Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify, propose and implement remedies. Perform repairs and maintenance aboard dredges and other marine vessels. Install, assemble, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various equipment. Fabricate with different types of metals via torches, plasma & other related craft power tools. Understanding of diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical manuals for repairs and diagnostics of equipment. Understand and sketch complex mechanical and structural drawings. Utilize instruments to measure angles, material thickness and distances i.e. - squares, levels, tapes & other craft related devices. Regularly communicate and work with contractors, vendors, and other trades Ensure work areas are kept clean and well organized. Complete assigned tasks in a safe/productive manner. Follows all company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an "Incident and Injury Free" work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity. Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed. Qualifications 3+ years of fabrication and shipyard experience Technical understanding of stick, tig/mig & flux-core processes Experience in weld testing procedures i.e. - visual inspection, pressure testing, dye penetrant & hydrostatic. Understanding of ABS, OSHA, and USCG regulations related to field Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site Travel (by land, air, and water) to field locations is required, transportation paid. Ability to work a 50-hour work week M-F, overtime as needed Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with craft workers under his/her supervision and management/supervision. Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools. Requirements Must possess a valid Driver's license, must have a good driving record Must live in local commuting area (50 miles) Required Certification (Any one of the four):FCAW-6GR

- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (preferred) Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels. Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend, or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders. Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies, and parts, up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Performs other duties as required.
