Summer Camp Counselor 1122 E Ascension Complex Blvd, Gonzales, LA 70737 $13 an hour - Temporary, Seasonal, Full-time, Internship $13 an hour - Temporary, Seasonal, Full-time, Internship Full Job Description Seasonal Summer Camp Counselor for Arc of East Ascension Summer Shine Day Camp Seeking a qualified individual who have worked with or interested in working with children with disabilities. We are seeking staff to work with our campers in our day summer camp. This is a temporary position that will start June 15th to July 24, 2026. Potential hires will be responsible for providing one on one or group support to campers during their time of camp. Camp will include trips in the community and staff will ride camp transportation to accompany campers. Hours are 7:30am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday. Once hired, staff must be available for prior to camp taking place.

Following qualifications:

Ideal Candidate is a Paraprofessional or DSP Paid Internship Opportunity! Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have transportation to and from work. Must be able to communicate well with others. Must adhere to training guidelines. Must be able to be attentive and focus. Must have the physical strength to pick up or move 50 pounds. Implement and execute plans, under Camp Director for the purpose of meeting students' social and daily living skills. These plans can include and are not limited to diapering, assistance with feeding, toileting, changing clothing, etc. Follow all HIPAA and Confidentiality clauses with the agency. Follow all directives as given or assigned by Camp Supervisor. This person will be under the management of the Camp Counselor. Must have a valid identification card and/or driver's license, pass a criminal record, and available to attend mandatory training. Please note that training will take place starting in May to prepare for Summer Camp, which will start the first Monday in June. Some training will be online and some in person.

7 hour shift Monday to Friday 7:30-2:30pm
