Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Program Staff/Counselor and ignite the spirit of adventure, learning, and growth in children and youth! In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where campers can explore new skills, develop friendships, and build confidence. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster memorable summer experiences that inspire young minds to thrive. This weekly paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while developing your leadership and childcare skills in a lively camp setting. As a Camp Counselor/Program Staff you will rotate through both our Overnight programs and our Day Camps that travel across AZ. You may fulfill the weekly role as counselor, recreation team, and/or the kitchen team. All staff are cross-trained in all positions.
Seasonal Employment:
May 31-July 12 Includes one week of staff training, 5 weeks of camp Option to end employment on July 3 Responsibilities Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities including sports, arts, and outdoor adventures, ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times Implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote childhood development, teamwork, creativity, and physical activity (with training) Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment (with training) Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by adapting activities and offering personalized care Work closely with and collaborate with fellow staff to enhance the camp experience Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or youth programs is highly valued Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or special education can contribute to a well-rounded camp experience Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children and support their social-emotional growth is essential Previous involvement in Christian mentoring or childcare roles provides valuable insight into nurturing young minds in faith-based or community settings Join us this summer to empower children through fun-filled activities while gaining meaningful experience in childcare, leadership, and program coordination.
