Experienced with kids? Love teaching? Want to lead a group of youth to be create animations and films? Then we need YOU! Futures Explored is hiring for qualified Summer Camp Instructors for our Summer Camps taking place in Concord, CA from 7/6-8/14. The Summer Film Camps will provide three (3) sessions of creative learning for young adults with and without disabilities. Teachers should be experienced with working with kids and young adults. Experience with classroom management and differentiated learning is a plus. Experience in Acting, Animation, Film, and Art is ideal. Each session is two (2) weeks long. Hours will be weekdays from 8 AM•4 PM. The pay for this position is $3,000 per session (sessions last for two weeks). Each two-week session will focus on a combination of acting , animation , film production , and visual arts . Activities will be adapted to all abilities and will include both group and individual projects. There will be a focus on collaboration, with campers working together on large projects. A breakdown of sessions is below: Session 1:
Storytelling Through Art & Animation Dates:
July 6 st•July 17th (Monday•Friday)
Focus:
Introduction to storytelling through different mediums, Exploration of animation, character design, and basic filmmaking techniques. Collaboration on a group animation project Session 2: Lights, Camera, Action!•
Acting & Film Production Dates:
July 20th-July 31st (Monday•Friday)
Focus:
Acting techniques for stage and screen, Introduction to film production (camera work, editing, sound) and Creation of a short film project. Session 3:
Advanced Animation & Artistic Expression Dates:
August 3rd-August 14th (Monday•Friday)
Focus:
Advanced animation techniques, Art-based therapy and self-expression, and Creating a collaborative art installation. Preferred qualifications are:
Bachelor Degree in education or a related course of study Experience working with youth of all ages Experience (and a love for!) working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. High sense of responsibility and dependability Ability to be creative and flexible with problem solving and multitasking Experience facilitating groups and/or working youth programs with proven classroom management Responsibilities Facilitate engaging activities and lessons for campers, ensuring a fun and educational environment. Manage classroom dynamics and maintain a positive atmosphere conducive to learning. Provide guidance and support to children, fostering their creativity and teamwork skills. Implement safety protocols and first aid procedures as necessary. Collaborate with other instructors to enhance the overall camp experience and address individual camper needs. Evaluate camper progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
Additional Info:
Must pass Livescan Fingerprinting Background Check Temporary role begins 7/6-8/14. Pay is $3000 for each 2 weeks This position is considered less than part time and does not include benefits. Candidate can reside anywhere in Bay Area or surrounding regions, but must be willing to travel to Concord 7/6-8/14
