Job Description
The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary The Summer Custodian assists with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for parish buildings and grounds during the summer months. Responsibilities include cleaning, light maintenance, event setup, and supporting parish activities and programs.
Job Responsibilities Clean and sanitize parish facilities, including: Church Parish offices Classrooms Restrooms Hallways and gathering spaces Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash Assist with floor care, including waxing and buffing when needed Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for parish events and programs Perform light outdoor maintenance such as: Picking up litter Watering plants Basic landscaping assistance Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor Help maintain supplies and custodial equipment Follow parish safety procedures and cleaning standards Provide courteous and respectful service to parish staff, volunteers, and visitors Job Requirements Reliable and punctual Ability to work independently and follow instructions Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds Basic cleaning or maintenance experience preferred but not required Respect for the mission and values of the parish and the Catholic Church The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
