POSITION OBJECTIVE

Summer school teachers are responsible for delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction in an accelerated setting that supports student growth and achievement. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Learning Deliver engaging, standards-based lessons in an accelerated format Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback Use instructional technology and effective teaching strategies to support learning Classroom Environment Maintain a structured, respectful, and academically focused classroom Establish clear expectations and effective classroom management practices Encourage student engagement, responsibility, and perseverance Professional Responsibilities Maintain accurate student records and attendance Collaborate with administrators and staff to support student success Uphold school policies and professional expectations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

(positions in this class typically require): Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution Meet professional teacher education requirements of school and state Single subject teaching credential, certification or endorsement if teaching a specialized subject Relevant teaching experience Knowledge of relevant technology IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Medium Work:

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
