Job Description
Company Overview Positive Beginnings Inc. is a dedicated special education preschool serving children ages 3 to 5 years in the Flushing & Middle Village areas. Our centers are easily accessible via major highways and public transportation, providing a nurturing environment tailored to children with special needs and their families. We focus on delivering high-quality educational programs that promote developmental growth and well-being. Overview We are seeking energetic and compassionate Summer Session Physical & Occupational Therapists to join our team. In this role, you will support children with diverse needs by developing and implementing personalized therapy plans. You will work closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to foster meaningful progress in each child's development during our summer programs. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pediatric therapy within a supportive community setting. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's physical and occupational therapy needs in a classroom or clinical setting Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans tailored to each child's goals and abilities Collaborate with educators and family members to integrate therapy strategies into daily activities Assist children with activities that improve mobility, coordination, strength, sensory processing, and daily living skills Document progress using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accurate and timely updates Provide discharge planning guidance and recommendations for ongoing care or community resources Support children across various environments including inpatient hospital settings, outpatient clinics, home health visits, and community-based programs Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric therapy Experience with inpatient hospital care, outpatient clinics, home & community care settings, and home health services Proficiency in developing care plans for pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and patients requiring trigger point therapy or physiotherapy techniques Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient record management Ability to perform discharge planning effectively for diverse patient populations Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward children and their families Knowledge of acute care procedures, hospital experience, and outpatient therapy practices Join us this summer to make a meaningful impact on children's lives through dynamic therapy services!
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $93,000.00 per yearLicense/Certification:
