JOB SUMMARY
The Radiology Supervisor at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of clerical staff, radiology technologists, and radiologic technology students. They ensure the accurate and timely performance of procedures, proper maintenance of equipment and supplies, and effective communication with staff, patients, and physicians. As a supervisor, this role oversees and guides a team of employees to ensure efficient task completion, promoting teamwork and effective coordination.JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the clerical staff, Staff Technologist and Radiologic Technology Students. Maintain readiness for high-volume, fast- paced trauma, surgical, and stroke scenarios. Has advanced knowledge to trouble shooting imaging and exam issues inEMR/PACS.
Compliance with all patients, staff, and equipment safety policies. Evaluates and provides feedback regarding individual and team performance. Recommends merit increases and corrective actions for staff within scope of responsibility. Provide care for patients across all acuity levels, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric, trauma, and stroke cases. Troubleshoot equipment and report malfunctions to Biomed and/or leadership promptly. Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Compliance with annual reviews and accountable to manage compliance for staff for their annual reviews. Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize radiation exposure and adheres toNMHS/NMMC
Policies/Procedures Guidelines. Holds staff accountable to NMHS Policies/Procedures Guidelines. Organize workflow to prevent delays in patient care for day, evening, and /or night shifts. May be asked to take call for staffing needs to cover for trauma or surgical cases.Manage overtime:
flex hours. All other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Education Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology. Required Licenses and Certifications . Registered by ARRT and Licensed as required by the State of Mississippi (MRT).. Upon Hire. Required Work Experience 1-3 years. Have a minimum of 3 years Technical Radiographic experience. Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Strong organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills required. Strong interpersonal skills required. Serves patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Efficiently and effectively prioritize/organize workflow to enhance services. Ensures services/procedures are in compliance. Effectively assist in resolving clerical problems/issues. Evaluates employee's ability and their training needs. Perform with a high level of professional and ethical conduct at all times. Must have daily contact with Radiology Staff, physicians, patients and other NMMC staff members. Must reflect a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff and the public we serve. Evaluates and coaches reporting employees towards accomplishing major goals and objectives.
