30 hours per weekPosition SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and energetic Oral Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help create a comfortable environment for patients undergoing complex oral surgeries, including extractions, implants, and other advanced procedures. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, professional setting focused on excellence and compassionate service. Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist with oral surgery procedures, including extractions and sedation cases; patient management during IV cases, along with recoveryAttend consults with surgeon, and ensure routing slips are finalizedAdminister nitrous oxide (as permitted by certification)Maintain a sterile surgical environment, including instrument sterilization and operatory setup/breakdownTake dental X-rays, impressions, and intraoral scansDetailed sterilization duties and weekly/monthly autoclave maintenance; stock patient rooms, perform sterilization, and organize supply kits Provide patients with accurate post-operative care instructionsSupport airway management and assist during IV sedation/general anesthesia proceduresEnsure patient charts and notes are up to date with accurate notes, providing timely availability of information for front and back office follow up. Create X-ray transfers in WinOMSPerform administrative and clinical support tasks as needed in a team-oriented environment, including daily checklist and task completionCoordination with front desk and other assistants to keep cases flowing smoothlyAdhere to the mission of the practice: Our offices are highly regarded in the Boulder and Longmont areas as the preeminent OMS/Implant surgery practice. QualificationsRequiredEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Experience in a dental setting
Certification:
CPR/BLS CertificationTechnical SkillsProficiency with surgical instruments, sterilization protocols, and operatory setupAbility to take thorough diagnostic-quality X-rays, impressions, and intraoral scansUnderstanding of infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA regulationsKnowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia protocols used in oral surgeryComfort with patient monitoring during sedation proceduresCharting and documentation accuracy in dental software systemsCoordination with front desk and other assistants to keep cases flowing smoothlyInterpersonal & Communication SkillsAbility to explain procedures and post-op instructions clearly and compassionately to patientsStrong listening skills to support patients experiencing stress or anxietyProfessional communication with surgeons, colleagues, and patients, ability to take directionTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate the surgeons needs during proceduresOrganizational & Problem-Solving SkillsMultitasking ability in a fast-paced clinical environmentStrong attention to detail and adherence to safety standardsPrioritization of tasks while maintaining efficiency and accuracyAdaptability when schedules, cases, or patient needs change unexpectedlyInitiative to anticipate problems, resolve issues quickly, and support the surgical team seamlesslyConsistently demonstrates punctuality and reliable attendance, while communicating proactively and professionally regarding any scheduling needs or time-off requests.

Compensation and BenefitsWage:
$25 - $32 per hour commensurate with experience and certifications
