Where lines become landmarks: Quality Engineering & Surveying, LLC is hiring a Survey CAD Technician! Transform field data into precise plans that shape real‑world development. QES is seeking a detail‑driven Survey CAD Technician to support our Surveying Department by producing accurate, high‑quality technical drawings. This role is ideal for a CAD professional who enjoys problem‑solving, collaboration, and building a solid technical foundation within a respected, mission‑driven firm. About the Role The Survey CAD Technician plays a vital role in converting survey field data into clear, reliable CAD deliverables that support engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. Working closely with survey crews, project managers, and licensed surveyors, you'll ensure drawings meet industry standards, client expectations, and QES quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare and update boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS surveys, plats, as‑builts, and construction staking drawings Translate field data and survey notes into precise CAD drawings using AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience a plus) Assist with quality control by reviewing drawings for accuracy and completeness Collaborate with field survey teams to clarify data and resolve discrepancies Maintain organized project files and follow established CAD standards and procedures Support project schedules by delivering accurate work in a deadline‑driven environment Stay current with CAD software tools and industry best practices Qualifications & Technical Skills Associate degree or certification in CAD drafting, Survey Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 1-3 years of survey drafting experience preferred; strong entry‑level candidates encouraged to apply Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is beneficial Basic understanding of surveying principles and legal descriptions Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills Why QES?
