Survivor Support Advocate Ionia, MI 48846 $42,000 a year - Full-time $42,000 a year - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Survivor Support Advocate to join our team in empowering survivors and fostering safe, supportive communities. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate crisis intervention, advocacy, and resource navigation to individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence. Your efforts will help survivors regain control, access essential services, and rebuild their lives with confidence. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through active support, education, and empowerment. Duties Offer immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence through in-person, phone, or virtual contact. Assist clients in developing safety plans tailored to their unique circumstances and needs. Connect survivors with critical resources such as shelter services, legal assistance, child protective services, healthcare providers, and counseling programs. Advocate on behalf of clients within the criminal justice system, family law proceedings, and child welfare agencies to ensure their rights are protected. Provide guidance on navigating complex systems including family law, social services, and behavioral health resources. Conduct outreach and educational sessions to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence prevention and available support services. Maintain detailed case documentation while respecting confidentiality standards and client privacy. Qualifications Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence and its impact upon individuals, families, and communities. Ability to use critical and quick thinking to address crisis, on-going support and advocacy needs for program participants. Must be able to work independently and function well under pressure. Will read, understand and implement RAVE-I/M, Inc. policies and procedures related to providing quality services to program participants. Must maintain a professional, courteous and helpful demeanor at all times when working at or representing RAVE-I/M, Inc. Ability and commitment to abide by comprehensive confidentiality policies and procedures of RAVE-I/M, Inc. Ability to express facts and ideas effectively orally, and in writing in a manner that encourages effective working relationships with other employees, agencies, volunteers and participants. Possess assessment and organizational skills and be able to implement RAVE-I/M, Inc.'s Mission and Philosophy in all program activities and comply with RAVE-I/M, Inc. Code of Professional Practice in its entirety. Must be committed to the concept of empowering adult and children and be able to relate to individuals of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Will successfully complete staff orientation and training. Must agree to and be able to participate fully in required pre and continuing employee screening and background checks, including areas of past and current employment, personal references, educational verification, and criminal background, driving record and Central Registry Background or equivalent Clearance.
