Job Description

Position Summary The Tasting Room Attendant is responsible for delivering warm, professional, and elevated hospitality experiences to guests visiting Bernardus Winery. This position plays a key role in daily tasting room operations, opening and closing procedures, floor service, guest engagement, wine sales, and maintaining overall cleanliness and presentation standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, teamwork, wine education, and creating memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality Welcome and host guests with professionalism and enthusiasm Conduct seated tastings and guide guests through Bernardus wines and winery history Build relationships with guests and wine club members to encourage repeat visits and memberships Deliver elevated hospitality standards consistent with a luxury tasting room experience Answer guest questions regarding wines, club memberships, shipping, and winery experiences Floor Service & Daily Operations Provide attentive and efficient table service throughout the tasting room Maintain awareness of floor flow and guest needs during service Support wine and merchandise sales through education and engagement Assist with reservations, walk-ins, and guest accommodations as needed Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations Opening & Closing Procedures Perform daily opening and closing duties according to company standards Set up and break down tasting room stations, glassware, and service areas Complete nightly cleaning, stocking, and end-of-day operational tasks Ensure the tasting room remains clean, organized, and presentation-ready at all times Follow cash handling and closing procedures accurately Team Support & Accountability Follow all company policies, service standards, and employee handbook procedures Complete side work and assigned duties efficiently and thoroughly Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and accountability during all shifts Assist supervisors and management with operational needs during service Qualifications Previous hospitality, restaurant, tasting room, or customer service experience preferred Passion for hospitality, wine, and guest engagement Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required Wine knowledge is a plus but not required; training provided Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (wine cases, glass racks, supplies) Ability to work in a busy hospitality environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage plus gratuities Wine discounts and employee perks Wine education and training opportunities Growth opportunities within hospitality and DTC operations

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
