Duties Description Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center is recruiting a temporary Summer teacher to provide classroom coverage and support to the educational instruction provided to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

As a Teacher, you will teach elementary, secondary, or special subjects including

• Preparing course and unit outlines, lesson plans, and individual education plans
• Evaluating and documenting individuals' performance and progress
• Collaborating with treatment team to work toward treatment goals and objectives The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement
• Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they meet any of the following: Teacher 2
• Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.

Teacher 3

• Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.

Teacher 4

• Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and 2 years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
