Pay:
59,980-75,730 (based on MA teacher license level) Stetson School is seeking a passionate Art Teacher to design and deliver a dynamic visual arts program that encourages creativity, self-expression, and skill development. This role blends curriculum design, instruction, and program coordination in a supportive, structured educational environment. The ideal candidate believes art is both a creative outlet and a powerful tool for communication, regulation, and growth — and can balance flexibility with consistency in the classroom.

Responsibilities What You'll Do Curriculum & Instruction Develop and implement an art curriculum aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks Plan and teach engaging art lessons tailored to individual learning needs Use differentiated instruction to support a wide range of learning styles and abilities Select, adapt, and design instructional materials and techniques to meet student needs Assess student progress using appropriate evaluation tools and strategies Classroom Environment & Student Support Create a safe, structured, and respectful learning environment Model positive, caregiver-centered interactions that treat all individuals with dignity and respect Incorporate Stetson School's Culture of Recovery philosophy into daily practice Establish clear classroom expectations and enforce them fairly and consistently Teach socially appropriate behaviors using positive reinforcement and behavior-support strategies Respond to behaviors in alignment with school policies and CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention principles Facilities, Supplies & Program Support Plan, budget, and request art supplies and materials Maintain inventory of art equipment and supplies Assess program needs and communicate recommendations to the Education Director Collaboration & School Support Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and professional development Collaborate with colleagues to support consistent programming and student success Assist with classroom and activity coverage as needed Qualifications What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Visual Arts 5-12 (Waiver-eligible candidates encouraged to apply) Valid driver's license (Class C or D) 0-3 years of related teaching or instructional experience Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Art Education or a related field Experience in therapeutic, alternative, or special education settings
