Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity awaits for experienced paraprofessionals interested in making a difference in educational settings. For the 2026-2027 school year, there is a need for 40 dedicated individuals to serve as paraprofessionals across Carbon and Lehigh Counties. Assignments will begin on August 10th, 2026 with limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy, transitioning to regular school schedules later in August. Positions include early intervention (part-time at 29 hours/week) and school age roles (full-time at 35 hours/week), with specific classrooms and schedules determined after completion of all onboarding requirements.
Key Qualifications:
At least one year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education environment Reside within a 35-minute commute of Carbon or Lehigh County Ability to work school-day hours, ranging from early starts (7:00 AM) to mid-afternoon (up to 3:30 PM) Meet one of Pennsylvania's paraprofessional state requirements or complete the certification process within 60 days of hire (details provided during onboarding) Able to provide two supervisory references specific to paraprofessional roles Comfortable with responsibilities including support for students exhibiting challenging behaviors, physical assistance, and personal care tasks
Core Responsibilities:
Support instructional and behavioral needs of students under the supervision of certified staff Assist in implementing instructional programs and providing individualized support across a range of classroom settings Maintain consistent, punctual attendance and demonstrate flexibility as classroom assignments may vary Build positive, respectful relationships with students and staff
