Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference this summer by supporting a 19-year-old student with autism and intellectual disabilities in a unique developmental summer camp program. This contract role is ideal for paraprofessionals who are passionate about providing behavioral support in educational environments and dedicated to helping students succeed in engaging, community-oriented settings. This position follows a convenient schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, on these dates—July 6-9, July 13-16, July 20-23, July 27-30, and August 3-6.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in school or camp settings Background in working with individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and positive reinforcement techniques Ability to build rapport with students and collaborate with education professionals Strong communication skills and a caring, patient demeanor High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications a plus
Role Responsibilities:
Provide direct one-on-one support to the student to facilitate participation in all aspects of the summer camp program Implement individualized behavior plans under the guidance of supervising staff Encourage social, academic, and developmental growth through structured activities Assist with self-care, communication, and mobility needs as appropriate Work in partnership with camp staff to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and any incidents as required Take this opportunity to utilize your skills in a rewarding camp setting, making a positive impact each day.
