Teacher Assistant Floater 4112 West 183rd Street, Country Club Hills, IL 60478 From $17 an hour - Full-time From $17 an hour - Full-time Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Teacher Assistant dedicated to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young learners. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by implementing instructional activities, managing student behavior, and providing individualized attention to students with diverse needs. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help ignite a love for learning, especially in early childhood education settings, while promoting growth in literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's development and educational journey. Duties Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons across subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills. Support students with disabilities or special needs by implementing tailored strategies aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques. Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to help students improve reading, writing, and numeracy skills. Help create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and independence. Support early childhood development activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and social growth. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral incidents; assist with proofreading educational materials as needed. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; classroom experience preferred. Knowledge of special education practices, literacy education, and early childhood development principles. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, students, parents, and colleagues. Familiarity with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques. Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or autism using compassionate and adaptive approaches.
