Job Description

Purpose Statement The Driver Education Instructor is responsible for enrollment, classroom and driving instruction, and documentation in support of the School Driver Education program. The program takes place outside of the typical school day. Essential Functions Utilize state-approved driver education curriculum in online classroom format Schedule and implement driving instruction outside of school hours Schedule and lead enrollment and student orientation meetings Prepare and maintain timely reports for state audits Work with building and district staff to support student enrollment, bookkeeping, and reporting tasks Effectively communicate with all stakeholders in a timely manner Utilize appropriate state authenticated application system to prepare student documentation and complete reports Promote high standards for student performance, positive peer interactions and appropriate social behavior Work cooperatively with other school personnel and parents/guardians Adhere to USD 266 Board of Education approved policies and regulations Minimum Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Organized and detail-oriented Responsible Clear and consistent communication with students and families Ability to work independently Education, Certification Bachelors degree with successful completion of driver education endorsement program Must maintain a current and appropriate Kansas teaching license or be able to obtain and receive the appropriate initial teaching license. Attendance Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality as required by the Board of Education policies and regulations. Must be regularly available and willing to work outside of the normal school day, or such other hours as the district determines are necessary or desired.
