Job Description
Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing across a district-wide setting. This contract opportunity spans early childhood through grade 12, providing both specialized and mainstream educational environments throughout the academic year. In this role, you'll work directly with students to deliver tailored instruction, adapt curriculum, manage and integrate assistive technology, and support their academic and social development. Advocacy for accessibility and collaboration with school staff to develop meaningful IEP goals are integral to your responsibilities. Whether facilitating communication through sign language or spoken language, your expertise will help foster an inclusive, engaging classroom experience for all students.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid certification and credentials as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience supporting students across EC-12 environments Proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) and/or spoken language methodologies Deep understanding of assistive technology and its classroom applications Familiarity with IEP processes, progress monitoring, and documentation Strong advocacy, communication, and organizational skills Flexibility to work onsite at multiple school locations (with potential for future hybrid considerations)Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs Integrate and maintain assistive technology to enhance accessibility Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers Facilitate communication between students, peers, and educators Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals for each student Offer ongoing advocacy for accessibility and equity within school environments This full-time contract spans the 2026-2027 academic year, working 37.5 hours per week onsite across multiple district locations.
