Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Step into a vital role where your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing can make a meaningful impact on students' lives. This contract opportunity, located near Alma, AR, spans the next school year from August 8th through May 13th, providing essential educational support in a one-on-one setting for K-12 students. With a schedule of 1 to 1.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday, this part-time role offers the flexibility to maintain work-life balance while making a difference.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Educator is required Experience working with K-12 students in a special education or DHH instructional setting Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities Comfort delivering instruction in-person and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized instruction to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate each student's specific learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEP goals in coordination with other support staff Work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive educational environment Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reports as required
